Absolutes

In a world where it seems that the only thing that counts is one's personal values and how one feels about an issue, the Bible provides absolutes.

• Psalm 111:4, 7-8 HCSB He has caused His wonderful works to be remembered. The LORD is gracious and compassionate… The works of His hands are truth and justice; all His instructions are trustworthy. 8 They are established forever and ever, enacted in truth and uprightness.

God never changes. His attributes are absolutely immutable.

• Malachi 3:6 HCSB "Because I, Yahweh, have not changed, you descendants of Jacob have not been destroyed.

God's word is absolute truth.

• John 17:17 HCSB Sanctify them by the truth; Your word is truth.

God's word will never ever change.

• Psalms 93:5 HCSB LORD, Your testimonies are completely reliable; holiness is the beauty of Your house for all the days to come.
• Matthew 24:35 HCSB Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will never pass away.

When the Day of Judgment comes, God's absolute immutable law will judge all.

• James 2:10-12 HCSB For whoever keeps the entire law, yet fails in one point, is guilty of breaking it all. 11 For He who said, Do not commit adultery, also said, Do not murder. So if you do not commit adultery, but you do murder, you are a lawbreaker. 12 Speak and act as those who will be judged by the law of freedom.

God will hold everyone accountable because of the absolutes He has given in His law.
